She moved her family of herself and 4 children to Florida and they moved around the state for the next several years; Gary taught himself guitar and formed a rock 'n roll band at 15, he graduated Holmes County High School in Bonifay, Florida in 1967. He then joined the United States Navy where he served as a Sonar Technician and Counter Espionage Covert Operative. He was honorably discharged in 1969, went to Hollywood California where he wrote and recorded songs for various music companies and then to New York City and Memphis, Tennessee and back home to Florida in 1972. He met and married Linda Marie Willis. They soon moved to Nashville, Tennessee where their first son, Gary Revel Jr. was born. Gary and Linda Revel now have 6 children with 3 being born in Nashville Tennessee and 3 in Los Angeles California. Gary's music career juxtaposed into a commission by Chief Counsel of the House Assassinations Committee Richard Sprague to investigate the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. and follow wherever it led to find those guilty of the assassinations of Martin Luther King Jr. and President John F. Kennedy. From this investigation came Gary's song They Slew The Dreamer. That song is now track #1 on his album of the same name playing on iTunes, Emusic and the newly remixed-remastered CD album is available at the Gary Revel Reverbnation.com Store. Jongleur Music has evolved into 3 companies; the music production and distribution company, book publishing and motion picture development/production/distribution.
SOME OF THE STORY
Playing poker with men in a rough and tumble southern juke-joint is not the typical activity of a 10 year old boy but it was for Gary Revel. Dancing with waitresses to Rock & Roll, Blues and Country music coming from the jukebox was also part of his usual childs play.
He started his first Rock music band at 15 then came graduation from high school, the US Navy and the music business in Hollywood California.
From Hollywood he went to New York City, Memphis and settled for a while in Nashville Tennessee. There he signed with the number one Country Music publisher in the world, Acuff-Rose Music. He then met and began a business association with attorney Jack Kershaw. Danger, intrigue and murder followed as he entered the darkness of the investigation of the Martin Luther King Jr. assassination. The journey would eventually take him into Brushy Mountain Prison in Petros Tennessee to meet the convicted killer of Martin Luther King Jr., James Earl Ray. What happened over the next year was a tragic miscarriage of justice and a fraud against the will of the American people as the truth of the MLK assassination was sublimated into a plot to continue the deception of not only the killing of MLK but also that of President John F. Kennedy and his brother Senator Robert F. Kennedy.
As a passenger on this ship of dreams you will learn some things about Gary, his life, his music and his investigation of the assassination of Martin Luther King. Much has been written, more is being written and plans are developing for a feature motion picture based on the story of his MLK assassination investigation.
His albums, THEY SLEW THE DREAMER, MARTIAN BOOGIE, FIRE AND THE HOLY GHOST and A GARY REVEL CHRISTMAS are now for sale and playing on iTunes and other locations. His music can be complex but it also can be fun and inspiring. From the soul stirring MLK assassination anthem 'They Slew the Dreamer' to the light and whimsical 'Martian Boogie' and then in between the rock and roll 'Hollywood Star', romantic ballad 'In My Dreams', Christian Rock 'Meet the Lord in the Sky'... You get the drift. It's an eclectic experience for all but before your journey is over you find yourself in familiar and comfortable territory with Gary as your fellow passenger.
Recently I posted an article/commentary on Net News Daily about the relationship between my music and my investigation of the assassination of MLK. My 4th grade teacher, Ann Lathrop, found it on the internet and left this message.
